Mario getting an indie film?!

Nothing can ever really take the spot of the original 1993 Super Mario Brothers movie. Yes it was corny, old school and comical but most people i talk to have some sort of place in their heart for that movie. Though after searching on the web today i had come across a trailer that was created and shown at SXSW (South by South West) college festivals. What might you ask would this video be? Well it's a short 2-3 minute trailer of a complete revamp and re imagination of the Super Mario Brothers. It takes the Mario Brothers and puts them modern day in a real life drama. I have searched and not been able to find anything out about the rest of the movie. So if anybody knows anything please speak up and comment.  Check down below for the video:

Galaxy tab! Is it that good? Better than Ipad?

So about 2 weeks ago i had the idea in my head and i began to look at tablets. I started to look at cheap third party tablets that ran older Android versions and none of them just seemed to jump out and grab my attention but then I saw the galaxy tab. Dare I look at the price tag? Granted it was $200 more expensive than what i was looking at but it was still $200 cheaper than the Ipad. I have a Samung Intercept and i was already not very fond of the Samsung version of the Android OS. Despite which i decided to pick out the Sprint version of the Galaxy Tab like a puppy from the pet store. Granted all my doubts and worries i found myself to be happily glued to my new tablet. The Galaxy proved to be a smooth running well oiled machine.
Using the latest version of Android it was far more organized and ran with far less hiccups than my Intercept. The 7inch screen was not too big and not too small. It seemed to fit perfectly in my hands and i could rotate it to where the buttons were on my right or left.. Not to mention it displays in high definition. I was happy to see it had a camera on the back for taking pictures and i had a web cam on the front for live video chat. The applications from the app store perfectly transition over to the Galaxy Tab with little to no problems at all. I was impressed with the fact that it came with a microsoft office like application and Amazon created an app allowing you to purchase, open and read kindle books. Movies are clear and crisp, pictures are displayed in HD. The speakers on the Galaxy provide great sound and volume for music and movies. I  don't have the 3G activated on it but i can only guess that it would make it that much better.\
Overall the Galaxy Tab is an excellent device which builds on the strengths of the Android OS. It's excellent high quality display and sound along with the ability to use all apps that your android phone can use definitely puts it ahead of the Apples Ipad in my opinion

I'm Back

Yes I know it has been quite a while since I last posted but work has been quite demanding and i got sent away for technical training for three months. As of now I should be back and I don't see any reason why i can't continue to post

Android OS vs IPhone OS: Which is better?

I have never been a big fan of Apples products whether it be from their laptops to their Ipod or to the iPhone and i most likely never will be. Though to be completely fair their key flow of income and probably the one quality i respect about them is their ingenuity. Apple sets the bar for others to reach, but i find myself asking how long will that last for them? Google decided that enough was enough and decided to jump in and they hit the market running. In an article posted by PCWorld.com by the end of the year the Android powered cellular phones will hold a 16 percent market share worldwide compared to the Apple iPhone. Which doesn't fall far behind with a 15 percent world wide market share. Which is an impressive feat for Google seeing the short amount of time that the Android system has been on the market compared to the iPhone. Which all leads me to the topic at hand here. Is the Android a better system?
I have used both types of phones for a period time(not to sound biased but i own an android). After use i have noticed that there are many advantages and disadvantages to both types of phones. As far as smart phones go the iPhone has by far the lowest learning curve making it one of the most simple and easy to use. It's pretty much a pick up and go phone. Though with the simplicity of the phone its capabilities are limited as well. Which proved to be one of the bigger disadvantages of the iPhone to myself. The Android has a higher learning curve for sure, and for being technology savvy I deffinately had to sit down with it for a day or two to fully understand and be able to use it. The navigation and mechanics were the big issues i was having trouble grasping because it was far more different then prior phones that i have had. Though once you learn both of those it deffinately proves to be far more efficient and easy to do what you need to.
The feature that possibly proved to me as being one of the androids key features is that they continue to come with physical keyboards. I myself  have always liked the ability of the physical keyboard. Typing on a touch screen feels awkward  and i find it nice to have the ability to choose between the two. Continuing along the lines of the touch screen i have found that the androids isn't as good as the iPhone. It will click things that I don't want when i go to touch another but this problem is normally fixed by the zooming function if you are on-line.
Phone companies such as Verizon who offer the droid series also offer additional features that the android offers. Such as the Droid 2 which offers the ability to create a wireless hotspot which is something that i would have expected to come from Apple. I have also found that plugging it into your computer and transferring files is much easier requiring no extra software at all and everything is stored on a 2GB micro SD card that i received with the phone. Meaning i can store tons of media on it and change the storage space with ease.       I have also notice that I can get far more applications for my Android for free than i ever could with the iPhone. Even if i did have to pay for it i can get a third party version which is just as good for free or half the  price. Let's face it when it comes to getting applications for your iPhone Apple is going to nickel and dime you till you can't even afford their new phone.
Coming down to it the Android is the more versatile and efficient of the two once you learn how to use it. Android is more appealing to those more technology savvy and does provide a better business functionality then the iPhone.  In the future it has the possibility to take over phones such as the blackberry and the palm. I have found that the  The apple on the other hand is for those who want a smart phone with a more simplified functionality and want to be able to just pick it up and go.

Tablets powered by microsoft and google

It seems as the release of the Android phone system released by Google was only the beginning of the war to snuff out Apple and their products. I recently found out that Microsoft and Google are currently working on making their software more tablet friendly. Currently Samsungs' galaxy tab is scheduled to release sometime in November and Asustek has scheduled to release five tablets next year. It seems that all the major technology companies are trying to get a piece of the pie but i think its just another reason for Google and Microsoft to snuff Apple out of the market. I have found some places online that are already sell a version of the android tablet.   I have also read that certain tablets will run off a chrome operating system as well.  if you go to lightinthebox.com you can find a Android tablet for about $170 which is about a third of the price of an Ipad. It includes a seven inch screen, 720Mhz processor, 256mb RAM,an HDMI and USB port. To find more android tablet PC's visit lightinthebox.com

Playstation 3 and XBox 360

So for those of you who don't know me well I am a big gaming fan I love all games from RPGs to sports games. I have pretty much every game system known to man. It used to be simple when telling people what game system you liked or which one you chose to buy. If you liked Sonic you bought Sega if you liked Mario you bought Nintendo. Then it came to the playstation the next gen gaming console of its time which made it a one way decision for most people. Shortly after microsoft released the XBox and well from there it only made it more difficult to make a decision on what game system to buy. It went from being a decision on what games you liked to what system was more appealing to you. Questions such as which controller do i like better?, would i rather have the trigger or R2 button?, Which online play fits me better? came into play in the decision making process. Personally depending on what kind of game I am playing depends on which system i prefer. For when I am playing first person shooters and sports games i usually tend to lean more towards the XBox 360 because the controller tends to be ergonomic for my hands while im playing those types of games. For just about every other type of game i usually prefer the playstation 3 for everything else. The  other big thing that i like to look at is online play. Both systems have a good online setup and good online play(especially HALO 3!!) but the biggest difference is that i have to pay a yearly fee just to get on to XBox live. So naturally i'm going to use PS3  while I am playing online. I get more movies to download better games to download(i.e. Fat Princess) quicker connection, faster downloads and not to mention the playstation 3 has built in wireless(saving you at least $100).  Need i go further with online benefits. Now possibly one of the top reasons why people buy the PS3 over the XBox 360 is the built in Blu-Ray disc player. Personally i was a huge fan of the HD dvd before it got pushed off the market by sony with the blu-ray disc. Though XBox went about it the wrong way they never built it into there system and you had to spend an extra $150-$200 to get the drive to hook up to the XBox.  Unfortunately i do like Xbox but it picked a dead technology to implement into its system and in order to use it you had to buy a separate device. Now just to put the icing on the cake for Sony the processing power that the PS3 is capable of is twice that of what the XBox 360 is capable of doing. Meaning faster load times more going on all at once in the game. The visual capabilities are far beyond what the XBox is ever able to do. Developers are constantly pushing the limits of the PS3 try to make games with better and more realistic graphics.
So overall the PS3 is for the most part the system of choice for me because overall it was a well planned and thought out system which took a chance in pushing the limits of gaming and ended up pulling through. The XBox still holds a dear place in my heart but in my opinion it will never come close to the PS3. So leave a comment and tell us what your favorite system is and why.
